About

Shopify Store Intelligence, built on evidence you can check.

TechBits identifies what is visible on a Shopify storefront, explains why it matters in plain language, and preserves the evidence behind every finding so a merchant can make a better technical decision.

What TechBits is

TechBits is Shopify Store Intelligence for established merchants who run serious stores without an in-house Shopify technical team. Instead of a generic website score, it runs bounded diagnostics against the public storefront and returns prioritized, explained findings with the observation that produced them.

Who it is for

Founders, ecommerce managers, Heads of Ecommerce, and marketing or operations teams who are responsible for a Shopify store’s performance but do not have a developer on staff to answer “is this actually a problem, and how bad is it?”

What TechBits analyzes

Store Check

A bounded, read-only diagnostic of your public storefront returning a versioned score and prioritized findings across SEO, crawlability, security, performance signals, and storefront structure.

App Audit

The apps, vendors, and third-party scripts observable in your public storefront, grouped by category, including potential overlap between vendors doing the same job.

Migration Check

Public platform signals for a storefront: the detected ecommerce platform, confidence level, and the migration-relevant evidence behind that reading.

Store Monitor

Recurring checks that detect changes in the observable storefront over time, so a regression is noticed before a customer reports it.

How TechBits works

Every product reads only bounded, public evidence that anyone could request from the storefront. No credentials, no app install, no admin access. Findings are labelled by evidence type — observed, measured, or inferred — and the underlying observation is shown next to the finding so it can be verified rather than trusted.

TechBits does not invent Core Web Vitals values, conversion rates, or revenue impact figures. Scores are produced by versioned engines, so a historical report keeps the meaning it had on the day it ran.

  • Evidence first — findings are tied to bounded public observations, not invented certainty.
  • Plain language — technical signals become prioritized decisions a merchant can act on.
  • Tenant control — organizations own their stores, reports, members, and monitoring history.

Who is behind TechBits

TechBits is built by the team behind Shugert, a Shopify engineering and technical SEO practice. The diagnostics reflect how that team already reviews storefronts in client work: start from what is publicly observable, keep the evidence attached, and only then decide what is worth changing.

What TechBits does not claim

A bounded storefront check cannot see private Shopify configuration, prove an app is unused, produce a complete installed-app inventory, guarantee conversion impact, or confirm that remediation is complete. A public scan is a starting point for a technical decision, not a substitute for authenticated discovery. TechBits makes those boundaries visible instead of hiding them behind a score.
